Goodbye, Dossier. I don't miss you.

I'm so thrilled to be able to say that we mailed off our giant mound of paperwork yesterday!  Our life story is in a box, multiplied by five, and on its way to our agency via 2-day express.  Once it arrives, our agency adds a few of their own documents (I think), then off to Uganda it goes.  Our dossier for Ethiopia was actually smaller and less work.  At that time, it was exciting when we mailed it off, but we were mailing it so we could get on a waiting list.  This is so much more exciting because now we know who we are adopting!  And its another BIG step closer to bringing her home...  hopefully in January. :)  That's the best case scenario.

Immigration 171H

We got the paper we were waiting for from immigration today!  This means our dossier is complete and hopefully ready to be sent to Uganda.  I emailed the whole thing (about seventy pages) to our adoption contact and it's going to be reviewed before we make five (yes FIVE) copies and send it off.  Movement is happening! 

Change of Country Request

After waiting almost a month, we received our home study yesterday!  Off to immigration it goes for our change of country request from Ethiopia to Uganda.  I'm hoping I didn't forget to send anything with it.  I might be shy a document, but I'm hoping our grandfathered status voids it.  Once we get our approval form from immigration, we get to send off a huge stack of important papers (our "dossier") to our agency, who then forwards them to Uganda.  Exciting!
